International Francophonie Week

March 20 marks International Francophonie Day

March 20 is the  International Francophonie Day, celebrated by both the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie and its member states and governments. For them, it's a great opportunity to express their pride in being French-speaking, while recalling the values to which they subscribe, and their contribution to the world's development.

Like the other member states and governments of La Francophonie, New Brunswick is celebrating Francophonie Month. It is an opportunity for the province and its partners to promote the French language and the cultural diversity that makes our community so rich.

In connection with the International Francophonie Day, the Government of New Brunswick invites you to participate in the various activities planned throughout the month of March to celebrate your Francophone pride and solidarity.

The 2025 International Francophonie Day

Theme: "I educate myself, therefore I act".

This year's International Francophonie Day celebrates education, the key to creating aware citizens equipped to meet the world's challenges.

In a world facing numerous crises and upheavals, education is the foundation for promoting inclusive societies, where citizens are enlightened and equipped to meet contemporary challenges and those of the future. Access to quality education for all, particularly in a world where technological advances are redefining our reference points, contributes to sustainable development and peace, by shaping committed and responsible generations.

OIF wishes to mobilize all its partners and all its driving forces to be the driving force behind inclusive and equitable education for all.
